Practice Makes Perfect - Spring Mock Interview Success!
Mock Interview Days give students in Easter Seals Greater Houston's High School/High Tech and RAMP programs the opportunity the put the skills they've learned throughout the schoolyear to practice and receive real-time feedback from working professionals. This April, we hosted Mock Interview Days in Clear Lake and North Houston, with a total of 57 participating students and 32 volunteers!

Most students arrived nervous and were shy to be called up for their turn with an interviewer. Only a few students volunteered to sit down first, but by the end of the event there was a line out the door of students waiting for their next turn. Our volunteers gave great feedback about things like eye contact, posture, and professionally wording interview responses. Thanks to their positive feedback and constructive criticism, our students were able to increase their confidence and comfort level in a professional interview environment. Our students left their interview tables with pride on their faces and clear goals on what to work on next time. We were able to see distinct improvement on many students’ rubrics and it gives everyone a real time visual of how impactful this event is for students.
