Overcoming Uncertainty
Learning that your child has a developmental delay or disability can be an overwhelming and emotional experience for any parent. The uncertainty can feel paralyzing. Easter Seals Greater Houston's Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program is here to offer families the guidance, resources and support they need to help their children with developmental delays and disabilities meet their developmental milestones.
For Levi’s mom, the journey with ECI began with many unknowns, but after just a few months, one thing is certainly clear: ECI works! Thanks to the dedication and personalized care from specialists like Stephanie and Susanna, Levi and children like him are meeting and exceeding their developmental and personal goals.
Levi’s mom shares her experience:
“When my son Levi started the program in February, I didn't know what to expect, but we took it one day at a time. I just want to say today that he has met and surpassed his goals and is doing so well beyond expectations. All this wouldn't have been possible without the team of Ms. Stephanie and Susanna. They're the best a boy could ask for. Levi resisted at first, which wasn't unusual, but it was very easy to warm up to Ms. Stephanie. You would think he has known her for a long time. This program has been so helpful, and we are glad to be a part of it. He can now count 1-30 and 20 backwards and knows his colors, shapes and animals. Thank you once again for making this happen.”
