Celebrating Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
Meet Colton, a 2024 2024 Walk With Me Ambassador
We're celebrating Developmental Disabilities Awareness month by shining a spotlight on Colton, a 2024 Walk With Me Ambassador, who was diagnosed with Cornelia De Lange Syndrome as an infant.
When Colton first started in-home therapies through the Early Childhood Intervention program, he couldn't roll over from his belly to his back. With the help and encouragement of our dedicated Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists and various other specialists, he progressed to rolling over, then sitting, standing, walking with assistance, walking on his own... and now, Colton is running around with his siblings!
His mom shares, "It has been such an incredible blessing to be seen by such amazing therapists in our home for the past 2 years. The therapists that we work with have become family to us, and we will be forever grateful for the role they played in Colton's development."
Colton's story is just one among thousands of families benefiting from Easter Seals Greater Houston’s comprehensive services for individuals with disabilities and their families, and our services and resources are mostly free or sliding scale, making our transformative services accessible for all.

This year, Easter Seals Greater Houston will serve more clients than ever before. That means that we need to break fundraising records in order to provide the services that over 14,500 veterans, service members, children and adults with disabilities and their families depend on. Will you help us raise $1 million? Every step taken and dollar raised allows more clients to access therapy, education, job training and more. Any amount you can give -- $50, $5, $1 -- is deeply appreciated and WILL HELP CHANGE A LIFE.
