We're saying goodbye to Summer 2024 with a look back at all the good times we shared across our programs at Easter Seals Greater Houston. From camps to internships, this summer has been full of unforgettable moments, growth and success!

Camp SMILES & Camp Buckaroo

This year's Camp SMILES welcomed more than 30 campers with cerebral palsy and similar conditions for a week of inclusive fun, friendships and new experiences at Camp For All's adaptive camping facilities. We also had four exciting weeks of Camp Buckaroo with a more than 60 campers, including children with disabilities and their siblings. Special thanks to our Camp Buckaroo host churches, Shepherd of the Heart, The Woodlands Methodist Church, St. John the Divine, and Sugar Creek Baptist Church for opening their doors and providing the space for our campers to explore, learn and play. Thank you to Crocodile Encounter and Three Brothers Bakery as well for making Camp SMILES and Camp Buckaroo extra special for our campers!

HSHT Summer Internships

HSHT student Baron Wilkerson at his CVS internship.

Fourteen of our High School/High Tech students participated in summer internships this year, gaining invaluable work experience and skills that will help them as they transition to postsecondary school or full time employment. Thank you to CVS, Red Oak Cafe, Meals on Wheels Montgomery County and Sterling McCall Hyundai for providing our interns with opportunities to explore real-world work environments this summer and supporting them in their career journeys!

Parents Night Out

Children playing with toys at PNO Katy.

Our Parents Night Out program had a record-breaking August with all-time high participation! Parents Night Out gives caregivers a well-deserved evening of respite while their children enjoy a safe, fun-filled night of activities. Contact Adriana Rico at ARico@EasterSealsHouston.org to learn more about PNO, register for upcoming dates or apply to volunteer!
