ECI Success in Brazos Valley

Parents help their toddlers paint while ECI Playgroup Instructors watch. In April 2024, the Brazos Valley Outreach began offering group therapy services for speech and specialized skills training to families enrolled in the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program.

We started with two weekly hour-long group sessions per week, and due to the positive response and growing demand, we increased to three sessions. Starting in August, we will expand further to offer four group sessions per week.

Since beginning in group, our babies have shown improvements across the board in development. All of our babies have grown in engagement skills, interaction with peers, attention span, communication, and fine motor skills. Some of our non-verbal babies have begun using more signs and even said a few words.

So far, we’ve been able to serve 15 families. We are very excited to continue to grow the Brazos Valley group therapy services and to see the continued growth in our babies and families through this phenomenal service.
