Ms. Jackie
"I’ve been Ms. Jackie’s Financial Coach since August 2022. Her financial goal is to improve her credit score to ultimately become a homeowner. Ms. Jackie began her journey with a credit score of 490 and has increased her score by almost 100 points to a 580. The process to knocking out her debt has not been fast nor easy, but she continues to optimistically press on. Each time we speak she is excited to update me on her financial journey. Through time, discipline and intentionality, she is on the road to achieving all her goals. I’m soooo very proud of Ms. Jackie and will continue to be a resource and source encouragement for her." - Jenny Lopez-Martinez, Financial Coach
Ms. Randall
"My financial coaching client Ms. Randall has been working on improving her savings for homeownership. Ms. Randall and her husband have attended both our financial education and homebuyer’s education classes. The family’s goal is to purchase their first home, but unfortunately the challenges they have experienced with their finances made that goal more distant. Ms. and Mr. Randall each face their own challenges: Ms. Randall savings were depleted because of the pandemic, and she found it difficult to increase her savings; meanwhile, Mr. Randall was having a hard time finding job. Throughout the year, Ms. Randall received SSI, but has increased her savings and after many closed doors, and Mr. Randall recently was hired for an auto action. They have been working on their budget and spending plan and moved to a new rental home with a lower monthly payment. Their new goal is to apply for a car loan with On the Road Lending and continue to increase their savings so they can purchase their first home together next year." - Jenny Lopez-Martinez, Financial Coach
Ms. Holmes
"Ms. Holmes and her two children have lived paycheck to paycheck and at times have been homeless. Financial coaching and education gave Ms. Holmes the tools she needed to budget, leverage the funds she did have and get connected to resources that could get her a steadier, higher paying job. Now, she loves her job and said it’s an awesome feeling to get up and go to a job she loves. She knows her children are learning lessons watching her. The family was able to get into stable housing, and when she sent pictures, she sent ones with her kids sitting on the couch, and another of just the couch with the caption, 'I can’t believe this house and this new furniture is mine.'" - Jenny Lopez-Martinez, Financial Coach
