We are one month out and so excited for Walk With Me Houston presented by Prosperity Bank! All children ages 10 and under (accompanied by an adult walker who raises or donates $50) can participate in the 13th annual Walk With Me for FREE! Like an adult walker, each child participant will receive a full day at the Houston Zoo, a commemorative event t-shirt and entry into the after party, complete with food, entertainment and a kids carnival. No tricks, no caveats -- completely free (although we greatly appreciate any fundraising efforts or donations to cover expenses)! Let's show up for our veterans, service members and neighbors of all ages with all kinds of disabilities by packing the zoo on Saturday, April 20th!
Walk With Me has everything -- family time, animal shows, community, dancing, face painting and so much more. Plus, by participating, you'll be supporting crucial disability and veteran/military-connected services for our neighbors in need. The funds raised from Walk With Me Houston enable Easter Seals Greater Houston to continue our mission of providing life-changing services for 14,500+ veterans, service members and children and adults with all types of disabilities.

We are so proud of the Youth Action Council (YAC), a student-led high school organization that volunteers with and fundraises for Easter Seals Greater Houston programming! Over the years this group of young leaders has raised more than $345,000 to connect military heroes with service dogs. WHY WALK?
Meet Walk With Me Ambassador Will, a U.S. Navy Veteran, and his service dog, Scooter
While serving in the United States Navy, Will responded to a tsunami in Indonesia. Seeing so much death and destruction at just 20 years old predictably left him mentally and emotionally scarred. Years later, Will was still processing the trauma of what he experienced that day. He was diagnosed with chronic and severe PTSD, anxiety and depression. The following years were filled with random panic attacks, migraines and seemingly endless struggle.
Then, in 2022, Will was introduced to Easter Seals Greater Houston's Veteran Program. He worked with Allie Keaton from My Service Dog through our Train Your Own Service Dog program to prepare, and in July, he got his service dog, Scooter. Will and Scooter trained with Allie for 11 months, and Scooter passed his service animal tests with flying colors in May, 2022. In the same month, Will graduated with an MBA, and Scooter walked across the stage by his side to accept his diploma.
