Our Partnership with Jeremiah's Italian Ice of Castle Rock

The History
Alyson and Alexander Ballas Bramlett have a deep and personal connection to Easter Seals that is rooted in family and has strengthened over time through shared purpose and community engagement. The Bramlett’s journey with the organization began with Alexander’s cousin, Leonore Pritchard, who has MS and Cerebral Palsy.
Leonore’s parents, Thomas and Michelle Pritchard—Alexander’s aunt and uncle—have supported Easter Seals and worked closely with Kelly Klein on development efforts for many years. The relationship between the Ballas and Neill (Kelly’s family) families stretches back even longer. In a moment that could only happen in Houston, in the 1970s, George Ballas, the family patriarch and owner of the largest dance studio in the U.S. at the time (Dance City USA), walked into Kelly Klein’s (nee Neill) father’s office with a popcorn can, some fishing line, and an idea. That “high-tech” prototype (a popcorn can with fishing line tied through punched out holes) would eventually become the first Weed Eater.
Jeremiah's Italian Ice
The Ballas family has played a significant role in shaping Texas commerce and community development for over nine generations, and that legacy continues today through Alexander and Alyson. Inspired by the care and opportunities Leonore has received through Easter, they’ve chosen to give back in a meaningful way.
Through their business, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice of Castle Rock, Alexander and Alyson are committed to supporting Easter Seals both financially and through hands-on career development initiatives. Alyson, a former Katy ISD elementary librarian and youth services public librarian, and Alexander, a Houston-based management consultant with 2 decades in the food and services industry, combined their skills to open a business that not only serves sweet treats, but also serves as a training ground for young professionals, particularly those with disabilities, by offering real-world mentorship in all aspects of running a business through the Easter Seals’ High School High Tech and Employment Programs.
Their passion for empowering others and their commitment to inclusion make them proud partners of Easter Seals. Alexander and Alyson look forward to continuing this work for years to come, honoring the Easter Seals organization in any way possible.
