"I Wish I Could Do More”

That's the comment we often hear from friends of Easter Seals when they make gifts to support our mission, clients and programs. There are simple ways to make a difference and including a bequest in your will or living trust is one of the most common and simplest ways to leave a lasting legacy. What if it were possible to make a significant gift? - a gift that makes a difference and helps fulfill our mission. A significant gift can be made at a very low cost. It does require planning WHAT to give, HOW to give and WHEN to give. Call or email our Development Department with questions, concerns or for more information.

If you are considering a gift to Easter Seals Greater Houston via transfer of securities, stock, mutual funds, through your estate plans, or other ways we encourage you to contact our Development Department to discuss your vision and ideas.

If you have already included Easter Seals Greater Houston in your plans, it would be an honor to personally thank you. For more information, please contact our Development Department.

For 70+ years, security/property gifts, legacies and bequests have played an important part in funding many of our Easter Seals Greater Houston programs that give people with disabilities the ability to live, work, learn and play in our community.

Stock / Security Transfers - Raymond James / Prosperity Bank serve as Easter Seals Houston’s broker for receiving securities to establish annuities. If you are transferring securities to fund an outright gift or fulfill a bequest, please see our instructions entitled “Letter of Authorization/Direction to Transfer.”

Bequests/Wills/Trusts - You can give families a brighter future by including Easter Seals Greater Houston in your will. One of the simplest and most popular ways is to leave a gift to Easter Seals Greater Houston in your will or trust. We are happy to talk with you about your philanthropic goals. 'Tis the Season
It's that time of year again...here are some ways you can help!

As you can imagine with the COVID-19 Pandemic, Easter Seals, like everyone else, has found alternative ways to serve our clients, especially since many are medically fragile. As such, all of our programs since early March have been through tele-health/virtual services (including our Walk With Me event!). In addition, we were honored to be on the receiving end of Houston and Montgomery / Harris Counties’ Emergency relief funds and since then have provided direct assistance to thousands for rental/utility assistance and more.

As such, we know first-hand that the need is greater than ever but also want to ensure we keep our families, staff and supporters safe. To this end, we are going to continue in holding our holiday family adoption but are amending it so that families can have somewhat of a holiday but that no one is unnecessarily exposed.

  • Help us Adopt Our Families in Need: We are asking for three main donations, easy to mail if need be, but nonetheless as effective and helpful: HEB gift cards (Large to small denominations), Walmart gift cards (Large to small denominations) and straight donations. Instead of specifically pairing families with adopters, we will keep a rolling list. Packages will be mailed/delivered as needs are met and as we go down the list, until we have reached the last family or the last donation.

  • Host a Holiday Drive: Host a corporate holiday drive at your office or get a group together to collect small items easily packaged or transported (socks, underwear, pajamas) for clients of Easter Seals Greater Houston that would otherwise go without during the holidays.

  • Shop GoodShop: You probably need to shop for the holidays anyway...why not use GoodShop? Choose Easter Seals Greater Houston as your charity and we will receive a portion of the proceeds from your purchase! Check it out.

  • Donate your end-of-life electronics to CompuCycle to support Easter Seals Greater Houston. Learn more.

** Be assured that after this process is over, you will receive personalized thank you notes from the beneficiaries and be featured in listings in our newsletter and website as contributors**
