Children's Play and Teen/ Young Adult Groups
Playgroups
Our Playgroups Program is a fun, welcoming, and inclusive weekly program designed for children ages 6–15 with disabilities, along with their siblings ages 6–10. Playgroups take place every Tuesday evening from 5:00–6:00 PM and provide children with opportunities to socialize, build friendships, increase confidence, and engage in meaningful recreational activities in a supportive environment. Each week features a variety of interactive activities tailored to encourage creativity, communication, teamwork, and fun. Activities may include arts and crafts, music and movement, sensory activities, group games, themed parties, holiday celebrations, scavenger hunts, imaginative play, and other hands-on experiences. Activities are adapted to support a wide range of abilities and interests so that every child can participate and feel successful.
Our Playgroups Program also gives families the opportunity to connect with one another and build community while their children participate in activities. In addition to the children’s programming, several Easter Seals support services are available on-site during Playgroup hours for parents and caregivers who may be interested in learning more about available resources. These services include Financial Coaching, Parent Support Groups, and BridgingApps, our assistive technology program that helps families explore apps and technology tools that support independence, communication, education, and daily living skills.
Playgroups are designed to create a positive, safe, and engaging space where children can have fun, practice social skills, and make lasting memories while families receive additional support and connection opportunities through the broader Easter Seals community.
