Mental Health Services

Easter Seals Greater Houston's Mental Health Program provides professional and confidential services to Veteran and military-connected children, teens, adults, families and couples. Our program helps individuals and families navigate life and find healing. The Mental Health team works directly with our Veteran Program to serve our Veteran and military-connected families.

In addition to treating Veteran and military-connected individuals, couples, families and groups in a clinical setting, the Mental Health team also provides workshops and presentations to our community on topics like trauma care, grief and loss, parenting, stress management and coping after natural disasters.

Services:

Our mental health services and supports are provided by clinicians licensed in the state of Texas, including professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers and licensed psychologists.

The mental health team uses a variety of treatment modalities, all focused on providing person-centered care, and offers evidence-based practices that focus on trauma related work.

Focus of Treatment:

Focus of treatment is discussed with your therapist. Our services do not have to be tied to military experience. Issues or concerns that might bring you to therapy may include:

  • Symptoms of worry and anxiety
  • Symptoms of depression
  • Life transitions, like a new job, marriage, divorce, birth of a child or a move
  • Parenting
  • Relationship concerns
  • Insomnia
  • Nightmares
  • Trauma
  • Grief and Loss
  • Adjustment

Eligibility:

The program is open to Veteran and military-connected families. An assessment will be conducted at intake to determine if you qualify for our grant-funded services.

Fees:

Our Mental Health services are grant-funded and offered at no cost to clients who qualify based on criteria in the grant guidelines. At this time, we are unable to provide Mental Health services to those who do not qualify.
