ToyTech & Play Therapy

ToyTech

ToyTech is a unique resource and lending library for children with all types of disabilities ages birth to thirteen years and their siblings and parents. ToyTech is equipped with trained individuals who can evaluate a child's need and teach parents how to use specialized and adapted toys effectively to help their children develop. The purpose of ToyTech is to make accessible toys that have been specifically selected or adapted to meet the unique needs of children with any type of developmental delay or disability so they can benefit from the enrichment of play. Teen Night

Teen Night is open to teens ages 14 and up with a primary diagnosis of cerebral palsy or a similar neurologogical disorder with a developmental age of at least a 12 year old. They must understand topics discussed relevant to the 12-18 year old age group. Our teens will have an opportunity to socialize, play games, and attend a Jam Session!

Play-A-Palooza

Play-A-Palooza play groups incorporate engaging activities such as music, bubbles and parachute play to build cognitive, social and physical skills. It is held on the first and third Thursday of every month in Stafford at the United Way Building from 10:30 am to 11:20 am. The United Way Building is located at 12300 Parc Crest Drive, Stafford, Tx 77477.

Karate

Through participation in this class, your child will learn balance and self control through various drills and independent lessons. These practices include training in martial arts etiquette, respect for authority and self esteem. Using a goal setting martial arts curriculum, participants gain confidence through repetition, guidance, and praise.

Pet Therapy

Pet Therapy uses dogs specifically trained to work with individuals with disabilities. Groom, walk or play fetch with these amazing dogs!

Yoga

Yoga is run by instructors who are specifically trained to work with children with physical and cognitive disabilities. Students learn breathing techniques, self-calming strategies, balance, muscle strengthening and elongation and much more. We offer one combined yoga session for children who require assistance from their parent to complete each yoga pose and for children who are more advanced and can do most poses independently. Yoga is open to people ages 2-18 with all types of disabilities.

Yoga is held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:50 p.m. To attend Yoga, please schedule an appointment in advance.

Dance

Children participating in our dance class get to dance, prance and imagine what to do with a scarf - all the while not realizing that they are focusing, following directions, and using their imaginations. Great fun! Dance is held on the third Tuesday of every month in Houston from 6:30-7:15pm.
