Be a Mentor

The High School/High Tech Ready to Achieve Mentoring Program (RAMP) is a career-focused mentoring program for youth with disabilities involved with or at-risk of becoming involved with the juvenile justice system. The majority of youth in the juvenile justice system have at least one disability, making all youth with disabilities a risk. The RAMP model utilizes a combination of group, peer, and one-on-one mentoring to promote the successful transition of RAMP youth to employment, continued learning opportunities, and independent living. Youth meet weekly to develop social skills, self confidence, work readiness skills, participate in mock interviews, create resumes and career exploration. Learn more.

Youth Action Council of Easter Seals (YAC)

The Youth Action Council (YAC) supports the programs of Easter Seals Greater Houston. Their fundraising and program support make a real impact on our clients. Any high school student in the Greater Houston area who can commit to attending 4 meetings and participating in Walk With Me are welcome to join as High School Delegates on YAC. For further information on joining the organization and serving in a YAC leadership position please contact Caroline Perillo, Vice President of Membership.

YUPES Professionals of Easter Seals (YUPES)

YUPES is a group within Easter Seals that was formed to support the organization in accomplishing its mission, which is to provide exceptional services for people with disabilities and their families so they can live, work, learn and play in our community. This exciting organization gives Houstonians the opportunity to meet and socialize with other savvy professionals, while helping raise awareness and resources for Easter Seals. Members will have the opportunity to attend quarterly social events and volunteer with the agency. Membership eligibility is based on willingness and ability to support and participate in YUPES activities. Net proceeds of all fundraising events directly benefit programs of Easter Seals. "To relieve suffering, to help the unfortunate, to do kind acts and deeds is, after all, the one sure way to secure happiness or to achieve real success. Your life and mine shall be valued not by what we take...but by what we give."
